Steel IBC Spill Pallets
Used in a range of industries, steel IBC spill pallets are often preferred when storing fuel and oil in heavy-duty environments. Compatible with liquids such as acetone and methanol that are unsuitable for plastic spill pallets, steel is highly durable and provides years of reliable service. At Northern Storage Solutions, we offer built to order steel IBC spill pallets that perform exceptionally well under constant use.
Steel IBC Spill Pallets
Single IBC Steel Spill Pallets
We design and manufacture a range of IBC storage solutions including steel spill pallets for use with a single IBC, in a range of versatile styles. Typically, the IBC may stand on a small, elevated platform above the sump that can be set at an angle, encouraging oil stored in the container to drain efficiently and prevent waste. The platform's height enables safe and efficient access when transferring liquids.Alternatively, the IBC can be positioned directly on a mesh grid that effectively captures spillages. Paint is a commonly used protective finish for spill pallets, but an alternative with high anti-corrosive properties is galvanised steel. Single spill pallets are usually manufactured with legs at the base to keep the sump off the floor.
Double IBC Steel Spill Pallets
Another versatile option is our double steel IBC spill pallet. A typical design features one IBC at low level. A second IBC is usually placed on a low profile drip tray directly above it. Any spillages from the higher IBC fall into the drip tray, then drain down to the large sump at the base. The sump has a capacity that is greater than the contents of one IBC in accordance with Oil Pollution Regulations 2002 PPG2 and PPG26.Double height spill pallets generally incorporate legs at the base to prevent contact with the floor, and to provide access points for fork lift trucks. Galvanised steel is often preferred for its reliable, anti-corrosive properties.
Large Capacity Steel Spill Pallets
We frequently offer extra large spill pallets manufactured from structural steel. A galvanised zinc finish adds excellent anti-corrosive qualities to the pallet's surface. This type of spill pallet can typically accommodate two IBCs or eight 205 litre metal drums that stand on a removable steel mesh grid. Small feet at the base provide convenient fork lift truck access. The design is fully compliant with current oil pollution regulations. We also have in-house design and manufacturing facilities that means we can offer bespoke solutions for steel spill pallets, as well as a wide range of other fuel storage solutions.
