What is a Clearflow Interceptor Drip Tray

The  Clearflow Interceptor Drip Tray is a self-emptying drip tray which incorporates a unique patented filter system that allows trapped water to free flow to ground (eliminating the risk of overflowing during prolonged rainfall) whilst containing any contaminant that has been caught within the tray.

What does the Clearflow Interceptor Drip Tray do

The Clearflow Interceptor Drip Tray provides temporary or permanent storage for items such as Generators and when placed beneath a pump or generator any drips, leaks or spills which may occur are held within the Tray preventing contamination of the surrounding area.

Conventional drip trays will over time fill with rain water eventually overflowing allowing any contaminated water to flow to the ground around it.

The Clearflow Interceptor Drip Tray eliminates the risk of overflowing that is seen when using a conventional drip tray by allowing the trapped water only to free flow to ground.

    How does it work?

The basic principle behind the Clearflow Interceptor Drip Tray is that oil floats on water meaning that when the water level in the tray raises any oils caught in the tray will remain on its surface, excess water is allowed to draining through the patented filter system that ensures full removal of all traces of oil that may still be present in the water. The long life filters will hold up to 7.5 litres. Easy removal of the filter basket allows filter replacement to be carried out in a safe and controlled manner.

    Specification

The Clearflow Interceptor Drip Tray is manufactured from steel plate to BS EN 10025-2:2004 S275JR and is fully seam welded forming a liquid tight bund. The trays are fitted with removable galvanised support beams that hold any items placed on top above any water trapped within the tray and also allow access to the bund for cleaning etc. Integral lifting points are fitted for ease of lifting and siting of the trays. Base plinths reducing the risk of damage when in contact with the ground.

    Compliancy

The use of drip trays is now a legal requirement under the control of pollution regulations.

Oil Pollution Prevention Guidelines (England & Wales) 2002 PPG2

Drip Trays For Fuels & Chemicals

Regardless of size, every business in agriculture, construction and engineering relies on a host of lubricants and chemicals. When using a small stash of hand-held containers and bottles, a drip tray made of recycled polypropylene should provide adequate oil spillage collection. These general purpose trays are available in many convenient sizes. They often have a low profile, but they can usually hold several litres of oil. Strong and leakproof, they can be indispensable when moving small quantities of liquid between different pieces of machinery.

    Plastic Drip Trays

Our range of strong, heavyweight plastic drip trays provide versatile storage options. They are generally manufactured from UV stabilised polyethylene. These have been reinforced with a chemical stabiliser that makes them resistant to UV rays. It gives them long-term durability, resisting splintering and warping even when used with chemicals such as sulphuric acid. Many of these deep trays have the option of an additional, heavy-duty grid to keep the bottles clear of any spilled droplets of oil. A mobile, wheeled version is ideal for safely transporting large containers around the workshop.

    Steel Drip Trays

We stock fully-welded, steel drip trays in a range of capacities from 320 litres to 4,000 litres. The heavy-duty trays usually include an integral supportive grid, although we can provide an alternative removable grid. Steel is an excellent choice when used in locations near machinery that generates excessively high temperatures. The trays have a tough, epoxy powder coating that should give years of corrosive-free service.

    Self-Emptying Drip Trays

These are ideal for outdoor use where stored drums may be exposed to rain. Self-emptying drip trays include a unique filtration mechanism that separates rainwater from any oily residue before releasing it from the tray. When storing many drums or containers, multiple self-emptying trays can be placed together to form a large storage area. The self-emptying trays are compliant with BS EN 10025-2:2004 S275JR, 2002 PPG3 and PPG26.
